DIGITAL MEDIA INTERN
ABOUT Our intern team consisted of a Client Engagement/Project Management Intern, Graphic Design Intern, Video Intern, Public Relations Intern, UX/UI Design Intern, and a Digital Media Intern. We were given a brief to create a full-blown marketing plan and campaign in order to promote the VELUX SUN TUNNEL Skylight, a product that lacked advertising. ROLE As the Digital Media Intern, I had to take on both the role of a media planner and buyer. I was responsible for creating the target audience persona using MRI data (Clear Decisions) and current paid search campaigns for the product. Using the budget the client gave us, I needed to choose the right form of media and tactics to best target our audience within the media plan. I planned a timeline for the social media campaigns, print ads, and google programmatic ads. Through the budgeting process, I had the opportunity to contact publishers for quotes on certain ad placements. When I was not working on the intern project, I was given a research project about how GDPR would affect agencies throughout the summer and presented it to my supervisor and mentor. I was able to learn how to navigate through Google DoubleClick Manager, Google AdWords, and Google Analytics while working with the search team and the digital ad operations officer.
